The Ramakrishna Order consists of the twin organizations, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. They are legally separate entities, but have the same board of trustess. While the Math or monastery concentrates more on the spiritual, religious and cultural development, the Mission part concentrates more on various service activities, which are of course practised with the spiritual perspective.

     Being an institution of more than a century of experience, the Ramakrishna Order has grown steadily and firmly, with the activities multplying all around the globe. Now there are 170 affiliated centers in different parts of the globe.

           Apart from these affiliated centers, there are hundreds of "private" or non-affiliated centers, numerous sub-centers, and hundreds of big and small groups of enthusiasts, trying to build up newer centers.
